Substance Abuse

Back in July Paige from Paradise Valley 2...Hell's Mountain and Elizabeth from Elizabeth's Ramblings each gave me the Blog with Substance award! Thanks, ladies! Here it is:

Now, this award is totally cool because it means that this Tulsi Tree is not a big nothing cluttering up cyber space but something that has a valid reason for being around. If you've been following me then you'll know that it's very important to me to have a valid reason for whatever I do. So I'm truly happy to recieve this award!

The rules are:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you.
2. Post the award pic here.
3. Sum up your blogging philosophy, motivation, and experience in 5 words.
4. Pass the award on to ten other bloggers.

Why do these award rules always make me sum up stuff up in as few words as possible? I've had nervous breakdowns over lesser demands.

Ok, breathe! Sum up blogging philosophy in five words...

*Jai gnaws on her knuckles before attacking the keyboard*

1. Purpose
2. Discovery
3. Realisation
4. Adventure
5. Connection

*Jai pauses to wipe the sweat off her brow before asking: "Does all this sweating mean that I burned enough calories to not workout today?"*

I pass this award on to...

Eric W. Trant at Digging with Worms - because he's always got something to say that's sensible and motivational and amusing.

Jennifer Straus at Intimate Family - because her enthusiasm for her subject matter is infectious.

Roland D. Yeomans at Writing in the Crosshairs - because his posts are always heartfelt and honest.

Sandy Shin at her blog - because she brings the YA genre and all it's issues alive to me. Get it? Young adult issues?

Mr. Monkey at Laughing Monkey Stick - because I know that no matter how crappy my day I can always head over to his blog for a cathartic giggle.

KarenG at Coming Down the Mountain - because she's always got interesting things to say about writing and the writing industry.

Jackee at Winded Words - because her blog contains lots of different topics and she's never too busy to answer a question or offer help.

Roxy at a woman's write - because she and her muse Daniel keep me grinning.

laughingwolf at paws and reflect - who's always blogging about something interesting whether it's pertinent news stories, food recipes, or spiritual advice.

Rachna at Rachna's Scriptorium - because she always provides interesting thoughts on writing and the challenges writers face.

I received this award twice so that means I can post the picture twice (because of that rule I just made up). And no, I'm not abusing the award with my overzealous behaviour so stop thinking it. What do you mean "I'm not thinking it"? I can see you thinking it right now! Cheeky monkeys...

*Jai starts muttering under her breath*

ha, I almost choked, on my cookie, when I read about the workout, err the NOT working out.

Okay what am I thinking now?

That's right, I gonna go say hidie-do to those folks :-)

Thank you so much for the award!! I don't have this one and it means so much--just what I would hope my blog would be. Thank you again!

And nothing cheeky about accepting it twice... (sorry had to say that fun word twice too)! :o)

Hannah, I'm a substantial part of your week and cheese is a substantial part of me. So it would be accurate to say that cheese is a substantial part of your week, via me. Right?

Oh, Jai, thank you. Gads, I haven't had much to say for a week or two, now!

Between work, work, kids, and a wife who's about to burst with a new baby (due any day, now), I've been insensible and sleep-deprived, and certainly away from the blogosphere.

Thank you thank you.

Now it's back to work for me! I'm on a conference call with a webex on the second monitor while I type here...

Gads.

Jai Joshi said...

Eric, somehow I totally missed the new baby news. My goodness, congratulations! And best wishes for your wife, I hope everything goes well (any day now).

You poor thing, I hope at some point you get some sleep. But I have a feeling you're not missing the sleep as much as you would be. The prospect of a new baby is too exciting.

Roxy, I hope you feel better soon! It's the season for colds so I supposed the good news is that you're getting it over with.
