Honestly!

I was astonished and flattered to recieve another award last week.

Emily White at her blog Stepping into Fantasy saw fit to grant me the Honest Scrap Blog Award! Thank you Emily!

Here's my award:

Now that's what I call hard core.

I'm very proud to have received this award because it means that someone out there, namely Emily, views my writing as honest. Nothing could be more meaningful to me as I've always tried hard to tell it like it really is. So being awarded Honest Scrap is a huge honour.

Now the hard part is that I have to reveal ten things about myself to you. Since I just revealed ten things with my Sugar Doll Award (and even they were difficult to come up with) I'll have to think really hard to find ten new things to tell you.

So, here goes:

1. I can speak Gujarati, which is my mother tongue, but I can't help making a few grammatical mistakes when I do. It's embarassing.

2. I like jello (jelly in English speak) but only when it's vegan.

3. I like tall dark men who read. Tall dark men who don't read are plebs.

4. I've started to dislike cheese after four months without any. This is strange because I used to be addicted to the stuff. I'd eat it in anything. Now I find it a burden on my digestive sytem.

5. I almost never complain but if neglected for long enough I can whine like you've never seen a person whine before.

6. I secretly like to make daisy chains and wear them in my hair. It's hopelessly unsophisticated but I can't help myself.

7. I can lay in bed for an obscenely long amount of time. I never get tired of it. I also like to lie around in lush green grass and doze or read. I never get tired of that either. That's when I make those daisy chains.

8. I love nature but I also love cities. Old cities. Cities with character and culture and energy. London and New York are my favourite places. I could live in those places happily for the rest of my life and always be excited by the buzz and bustle of city life. It's so sexy.

9. Despite my love of cities I hate Mumbai, Delhi, and Los Angeles. They're dirty and depressing and definitely not sexy.

10. I love walking and walk a lot wherever I am. I'd rather walk than drive, ride, fly, swim, be carried, or anything else. And since I've 'been there done that' with all these options, I know what I'm talking about.

So there are my ten revelations. Phew!

Now I have to pass on my award. It's always difficult to chose among the many fabulous blogs I follow but with dilligence I've managed to narrow the list down. I'm passing the Honest Scrap award on to:

L. Diane Wood at Spunk on a Stick

Paige at Paradise Valley 2

Cuban at A Cuban in London

Uneasy at The Uneasy Writer

Pan at A Vagabond Tale

Jennifer at Intimate Family

Ronda at Ronda's Wonderland

Do check out these cool blogs that are honest, real, and a lot of fun. These's something different and interesting about each and every one. I love it.

My goodness, Jai, your award list is just growing and growing! :)

I was very glad to give you the award and I do consider your writing very honest. I'm very lucky to have found your blog and have had the opportunity to follow it practically from the beginning.

As for the daisy chains and lying in the grass, that reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. I may just have to watch that now. :)

Wow! Great job at listing another 10 things. Hard to do after having just done one.

Thanks so much for the award! I always enjoy myself so much when I visit your wonderful blog and stories.

Daisy chains are fun. I haven't made one in years, but I'm sure you'd look very cute them in your hair.

Emily, thank you for honouring me again and for following me so faithfully.

I enjoy your blog so much and always learn something interesting about the fantasy world when I'm there. I look forward to learning much more. I know that you've always wanted to be a fairy but I have to admit to having a few moments of yearning to be elf. They make such nice little shoes, see?

First of all, congrats. Your blog is beginning to look like a mini-Oscar version :-)

Secondly, thanks for the award. I will be honest about the Honest Scrap Award. My blog has been award-free for some time now. But many thanks all the same.

'I like tall dark men who read. Tall dark men who don't read are plebs.'

You get away with stuff that could land you in dangerous situations, to say the least. But what I like is your chutzpah and wit. Only you could have written that and not cause offense (to me at least, although I do read, as for the tall, well, not here, 5'9'' hardly registers as tall in GB).

Like you, I love walking, so it's great to meet someone else for whom the most natural exercise in the world is a pleasure, too. One of my projects in the near future is to set on a long walk from where I live to another distant part in London and review the journey there and the place I'll visit.

Many thanks for such a brilliant post.

Greetings from London.

Wow, thank you so much, that is a cool award to be sure.
Funny about the 10 things, they can take a bit of thinking on :-)

Thank you Jai!!! And congrats on yet another well deserved award!!!! I LOVE your honesty, and I love reading your "10 things about me" lists. You always have something new and exciting to share! I am honored to receive the award from you, knowing that you admire truth and honesty, no matter how others may accept or not accept it. The whole honesty ideal is becoming less & less popular these days with our society due to the fear of offending others. We've become to soft,..hurt too easily. I say, rub some dirt in it, take a lap & get over it! Just my honest opinion ;)
Thanks Jai!

Congrats on your newest award, Jai! Daisy chains. I'm picturing that. Enjoyed learning a little more about you.

Cuban, you made me crack up!

5 foot 9 inches is tall to an Indian girl who's 5 foot 4 inches. That's once benefit of being short, I've always felt. All the men are tall to me. Well, almost all the men. But not all of them are dark or read. That's a problem for me.

Regarding walking, I have this dream to walk all over England and Wales, following the trails of the ancient ley line system. I'd do it in summer and soak up the beautiful English countryside.

Paige,

yeah, I had to wrack my brains coming up with ten things too. It's hard.

Jennifer,

I was pleased to have the opportunity to show you how much I appreciate your blog. You're doing such a great job.

Honesty is hard to find these days, which is why when I see it I grab on to it and don't let go.

Love ya!

Dorraine,

Thank you. One of these days I'll take a picture of me wearing a daisy chain. That is if the daisies ever grow back. When will this cold weather go away? Argh.

Congratulations Jai! You are more deserving of this award than any other you've received, (IMO).
I can so easily see you making daisy chains for your hair, and sprawling out in a meadow. You are a down-to-earth lady, but you're also such a dreamer, a hard to come by trait for sure.
I'm just loving learning more and more about you. You become more interesting with every post.

Deanna,

Thank you so much for your lovely words! You're the best.

I thought I left a comment on this post??? Maybe I'm getting little senior moments? Nah! It had to have been google that messed-up.

Congratulations Jai. I agree you are an honest scrapper:)

I haven't made a daisy-chain since childhood. Me thinks I should go daisy hunting.

Thanks, Elizabeth.

Have the daisies started growing back in Texas then? I suppose I'll find out soon!
